Structured Settlement Payments Rights Are Not Annuities
No, you can't sell annuities or structured settlements now or in a week from now regardless of what advertisers want you to believe. Questions is, what else are you telling you that isn't fully true? Do you know that the structured settlement secondary market is unregulated, allowing many shady buyers, investors, brokers and websites to claim or engage in various illegitimate activities? Nobody really is selling or buying structured settlement annuities when talking about a transfer. All you sell or get are the payment rights, and the annuities themselves that underlie these payments aren't sold at all. Structured settlement factoring companies or brokers may not even have the right to deal with selling or buying or brokering annuities that may require licensing. But they actually don't need license because they are in fact not selling or brokering insurances or annuity contracts. All they do is buying or selling or brokering structured settlement payment rights, and this does not need licensing. It isn't right when you see a factoring company announcing their purchases or sales of structured settlement annuities. It doesn't work this way.
